As a scientist, I can confirm that this is true

Found post/Pico death

I found the missing Pico death announcement. I could have sworn I published in a reasonable amount of time, and it turns out that I accidentally changed the date to claim it was published a year ago. I guess he died on 1/7

Here's the original post, with incorrect date fixed

You're doing it wrong

Lately, it seems like almost every morning that I commute from the north, something weird/bizarre/interesting. It could be luck, or the fact that it's a long commute (two busses and two trains), or perhaps it's an innate feature of the routes I travel.

Notable examples:

-My bus rear-ended a tiny compact car when it slipped in the snow. (Ugh. Get out and walk in the blizzard.)

-Crazy guy gets on train, muttering how building the subway is "an abomination on the face of God," (then why are you on it), touched me while getting in the seat (ewwww), making raspberry/plane engine noises, says he'll "hire Kill Bill to come kill everyone on the subway." Does he know Kill Bill is not a real person?

-Same day, different guy gets on bus drunk (one of several drunks at 9:30 AM) yelling things, including "chain gang." Huh. He gets off two stops later.

-Panhandling on the red line. Almost every day. Common things: CDs/DVDs, gloves, hair ties, stickers (huh?), blue squares...

-Today, woman dressed much more nicely than me walks into the car and says she "walks by faith alone" and is tired and cold and hungry. This kind of begging is common, but it's more unusual for someone to be wearing designer jeans and have an obviously expensive hair cut/dye job while asking for change. She mentions God about 10,000x. This is almost as unconvincing as the girl and puppy begging by the Damen blue line stop a few months ago: the puppy was wearing a leather coat.

It has been suggested that listening to an iPod is a good way to not notice these situations. However, in this part of town, showing that you have an iPod is a great way to get mugged.

Pico dies

Pico died on 1/10. I'm not sure what happened to the post about that.

That's the last of the boys.

Weezer

Live at the Aragon. Weezer played Pinkerton. We got there early and got a pretty good spot. The opener played dance music: drums, a singer, and a guy sampling/mixing/playing drum machine/iPad (1?!?!!). The one guy even played a solo on the iPad. Woah?

Here are pictures (mostly of Rivers Cuomo, the lead singer/primary writer for Weezer).

Pico Died

Poor little guy. I'm always surprised that I get so sad when my pets die. I think the expectation is (especially since they're rodents and I'm an adult) that I proceed as if nothing happened. But it's really obvious when they're going to die soon, and I always feel so bad, since they're so obviously in pain. All morning on Friday (he died in the afternoon), Pico just wanted to rest his head on my hand. Then he sat next to me, under a blanket, until a couple minutes before he died. I held him when he died. Poor guy.

So... how about a baby photo?

And since he's the last of the boys (wow), here's a cute group cuddle photo. They did this all the time.
